Bush Telegraph

I am going to 'out' one of my employees - Amy Plank -   as a first class stylist. This week two shoots which she styled have appeared on UK wedding style blogs and yet she stubbornly refuses to label herself as a stylist or set up a Facebook page with a portfolio of her work. In an astrological description of the characteristics of a Taurus I find these bon mots,  which are actually a very true likeness of Miss Plank!

"Taurus, the second sign of the zodiac, is all about reward. Unlike the Aries love of the game, Taurus loves the rewards of the game. Think physical pleasures and material goods, for those born under this sign revel in delicious excess...
...It's the Bull that serves as the Taurus's mascot, and along with that comes the expectation that these folks are bull-headed and stubborn. Yes, they are...so expect that things will occasionally grind to a halt. That said, Taurus doesn't start out with the intention of getting stuck. They simply want to get things done, and it's that steady, dogged persistence that winds up being viewed as stubbornness...but Bulls really aren't interested in living without beauty in their lives"

If the debatable science of this star sign description doesn't  add up, not only to Amy, but to the qualities of a brilliant stylist I don't know what does.

This last week Amy's collaborative work has appeared on Love My Dress ...

On a mission for style inspiration. innovation and general gossip hounding I visited the Designer Wedding Show this week. New event and wedding planners Snapdragon sent me a ticket and I can report that their stand was amazing and ex Navy Event Director Ryan Hall was charm personified. If you would like your wedding planned in sumptuous detail with the precision of a military tattoo Ryan could well be your man.

Of course I was virtually weeping with delight at Tony and Javier's installation. Their company, By Appointment Only Design, takes floristry to a level so intoxicating I walk away from their work a little giddy.

The By Appointment Only Design stand - imagine how good this smells too...

How about these fresh flower chargers - I mean how do you even create that and not wobble your plate?

Emma Woodhouse - The Wedding Reporter - tasting cake by Rosalind Miller

One of Rosalind's cakes - all pretty and garter-like

Blog Stars Anna from anna and the ring , Emma Woodhouse from The Wedding Reporter Sara from Under The Vintage Veil and Emma Lucy photography

The amazing creations from Cutture, bespoke wedding stationers that create the most intricate laser cut works of art

God-like genius Paul Antonio and his incredible calligraphy. Not only is he charm personified, tall and elegant with a mellifluous voice that is utterly hypnotising - he also does charitable work for underpriviledged kids. Damn it - another crush!!!

Pretty much after this I bumped into squillions more friends and decided it would be a good idea to have a Mosimann's lunch with Rose champagne.

After lunch, gossip and catch up I pretty much wandered in a daze round stands and forgot to get my camera out!

Other notable suppliers that looked amazing were - you'll have to take my word.

Stressfree Hire that do all sorts of amazing  lighting and draping design solutions that transform bland spaces into magical arenas. Check out their website www.stressfreehire.com

The Vernon Sisters - www.thevernonsisters.com  a trio of amazing women who sport 40's hair-dos and sounded incredible!

Award-winning creche providers The Artful Splodgers - http://www.artfullsplodgers.com
 - keep kids delightfully occupied, safe and entertained.

Finally another cake company GC Couture www.gccouture.co.uk -
it goes without saying the cakes were beautiful but I had a fabulous small world moment when I met Marie - one of the directors. Marie and I used to work together in London an unmentionable amount of years ago - in a completely different life in a graphic design agency. Still amazingly talented but now in cakes and bites not clicks and bytes.

The week ahead - Valentines Day - who will be getting engaged and will your flowers be fabulous?

Saturday 18th Pop Up Shop with Janet Mohapi Banks and Chanelle Segerius Bruce. Couture cake queen and and one of my favourite photographers will be in store dispensing cake, wisdom and inspiration.
